Privacy Policy

How this website collects, uses and protects personal data, and the rights you have over it.

Last updated: 10 June 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of this website ("we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit this website, sign up to our newsletter, or contact us. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent way, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and other applicable data protection laws.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at dynamo@solqu.com.

1. About this website

Dynamo Bresno is a work of creative fiction. The club, its players, staff, league, country and ownership are invented and do not represent any real organisation or person. This website exists to publish that fictional world and to offer a free browser-based game. It is an informational and entertainment website and does not provide goods or services for sale.

2. The data we collect

We deliberately collect as little personal data as possible. Depending on how you use the website, this may include:

Newsletter email address. If you choose to subscribe to The Dynamo Dispatch, you provide your email address. Our newsletter is operated through Substack, and your subscription is created and managed on Substack's platform. When you submit the sign-up form, you are taken to Substack to complete your subscription, and your email address is collected and processed by Substack as an independent data controller under its own privacy policy.

Information you send us. If you email us (for example, our Press Office address), we receive your email address, your name if you provide it, and the contents of your message.

Technical and usage data. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record limited technical information for security and reliable operation, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, the pages you request and the date and time of access. This is standard server-log information.

Game data. Our browser game runs entirely within your own browser. Any progress, settings or saved games are processed on your device and, where stored, are kept locally in your browser. This information is not transmitted to or collected by us.

We do not knowingly collect special categories of data (such as health, ethnicity, religion or political opinions), and we ask that you do not send such information to us.

3. How and why we use your data

We use personal data only for the purposes for which it was provided, including to: send you The Dynamo Dispatch newsletter where you have subscribed; respond to enquiries you send us; operate, maintain and secure the website; and comply with our legal obligations.

Our lawful bases for processing under the GDPR / UK GDPR are: consent (for sending you the newsletter, which you may withdraw at any time); legitimate interests (to operate and secure the website and to respond to your enquiries, balanced against your rights); and legal obligation (where we must process data to comply with the law).

4. The newsletter and Substack

The Dynamo Dispatch is delivered using Substack Inc. When you subscribe, your email address is processed by Substack to deliver our newsletter and is subject to Substack's own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or by contacting us. We do not sell or rent your email address to anyone.

5. Cookies

This website does not set its own advertising or tracking cookies. Some essential or third-party cookies may be set by our hosting provider or by embedded third-party services. For full details, see our Cookies Policy.

6. Sharing your data

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share data only where necessary with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf (such as our newsletter platform and hosting provider), and only so they can provide their service to us. We may also disclose data where we are required to do so by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

7. International transfers

Some of our service providers, including Substack, are based outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on those providers' own safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved transfer mechanism, to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy. Newsletter subscription data is retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and a reasonable period afterwards. Server logs are retained for a limited period by our hosting provider for security and operational purposes.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request rectification of inaccurate data; request erasure of your data; restrict or object to our processing; request data portability; and withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it (for example, for the newsletter). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at dynamo@solqu.com. We will respond within the time limits required by law.

If you are in the UK or the EEA and believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

10. Children's privacy

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Third-party links

This website may contain links to third-party websites and services, including Substack. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Significant changes may be communicated through the newsletter where appropriate.

14. Contact us
